Yves Saint Laurent was born in Oran, Algeria in 1936 and was best known as an influential European fashion designer who impacted fashion in the 1960's to the present day. In the 1970's he began producing costume jewellery which is now known as one of the most influential labels of the twentieth century, the iconic YSL signature.
